The New Norwood Builder
By Don Hobbs

In my wife Joyce's previous life, she had a handy man named Randy. Randy is from Tennessee and still lives there. Every so often Joyce and Randy talk on the phone and Joyce always mentions that we would love to have Randy come to Texas and do a few projects for us. Well, it is sort of like going fishing. If you cast your line out enough time you are bound to get a nibble. We got more than a nibble, our entire hook, line, and sinker were swallowed. Randy called last week and said he would be arriving the next day to start on the projects.

What projects? We have a list of honey-dos as long as my arm. So, we are having our ceilings painted, the walls painted, new ceiling fans install in two room, new sink in the kitchen, new bookshelves installed in the library*, new bamboo shades for the entire house, and several more things done. I kindly refer to Randy as the Norwood Builder and he does not have any murderous intent as far as I can tell. He is just a hard working soul that is capable of fixing just about anything.

Because of the mess and noise and dust, I am using the Norwood Builder as my excuse for not having anything better to offer this week. I am off to Chicago for work and when I return, it is going to be like coming home to a brand new house.

Happy Collecting!!

* New shelving in the library is the Sherlockian reference this week.
