The All Things Sherlockian International Database

Last week I introduced my photographic essay, All Things Sherlockian. This week I want to take it a step further. I want to start a directory of Sherlockian places around the world. "The All Things Sherlockian International Database" will become a repository for places, photographs, and general information. I would like for everyone who reads SherlockPeoria to send all of the pertinent information to me c/o Sherlockpeoria. Sent me the name and address of anything deemed Sherlockian. It might be a silhouette of the master, a business using a caricature of Holmes, or just Highway 4 road, sign. Send along photographs as well along with a date of when it was taken.

I have already started compiling a geographically listing of places that I know about. Many times in the past, I have passed something only to wish I had a camera with me. Now I am always armed with my digital camera plug I carry two-cell phone that will either one take pictures. This information will be stored and made available upon request. Going somewhere interesting? Drop me an email and I will let you know if there is anything Sherlockian nearby.

I envision ATSID (All Things Sherlockian International Database) becoming one of those acronyms that will become as well known as SCUBA or RADAR, at least among the traveling Sherlockians. Imagine how you will be able wow your friends and relatives every time you go somewhere and come back with a photograph of something Sherlockian, as deemed by Sherlockians. I can see AAA giving it some kind of award for humanitarian efforts or causing a boom in travel to those Sherlockian places listed in the database.

Every person who sends in the name of place or a photograph will get credit for his or her entry. Imagine the sheer delight of seeing your name in print and having the satisfaction that you could responsible for giving an anonymous Sherlockian a photo-op or at least something to strive for.
